A US Air Force spy plane flying for the 55th Wing made an emergency landing in Qatar on Monday. The US Air Force did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. The defense policy bill for 2023 will allow the US Air Force to retire 21 A-10 Warthogs. The Air Force has wanted to get rid A-10s for years, but Congress has blocked it from doing so. The Air Force has another 260 A-10s in service, but lawmakers may be more open to scrapping them. That Air National Guard wing previously flew earlier models of the F-16 until they were replaced — to much fanfare — with the Warthog back in 2010. US Space Force landed the latest of its X-37 unmanned crafts on Saturday, after 908 days in orbit. Space Force said that the secretive mission was to do experiments, like beaming energy from space. This is the sixth time an unmanned craft has been sent in orbit as part of its cryptic X-37 mission. According to the US Space Force, X-37B was in space to carry out experiments. Since 2020, the mission has been run by the US Space Force — the government's space-defense branch of the military set up by Former President Donald Trump.
